This Will Only Take A Minute has the New York based band Makoor called their new CD. That record contains more than one minute with music, actually approximately 39 minutes. 39 minutes with dynamic and intense artrock with an ominous lyrical missive.
This Will Only Take A Minute is Makoor’s second studio album, is a warning to humanity. From its sixty-second opener, Chapter Zero — a temporal snapshot of human communication — throughout, the narrative touches on issues of social media addiction juxtaposed with growing further apart as individuals, systemic global entropy and finally, reincarnation.
Cast within a wide canvas of art rock textures, the musical journey follows alongside the lyrical path, with driving rhythms and intense distortion, lush strings and stripped down, minimalistic acoustic timbres. At once overly confident and insufferably vulnerable, the story is of both contradiction and convergence, offering an alternative view on the unrelenting cycle we put ourselves through as humans.
