Metamorphosis is the result of the new and stable band lineup that Heylel have gathered in 2017.
At the end of March last year Heylel from Porto released Shades Of Time, a dark and atmospheric salbum fronted by the amazing voice of Ana Batista. The band’s other Ana, Ana Clérigo plays violin and is also highly contributing to the Portuguese sound. A sound where the whole quintet interacts exemplarily and plays each other well and obviously thrives to musicalize together.
Heylel was born at the fall in 2012. The band combines influences ranging from classic rock to hard rock and even symphonic rock, with a very personal touch. The outcome is a dark, atmospheric and involving sound, gracefully combined with the beautiful voice of Ana Batista. Known for crossing genres and creating haunting but also hopeful songs, Heylel remain trustful to their musical priority, delivering songs that the listener can connect with.
In 2014 the band released its debut album Nebulae and caught the attention of international progressive and rock press. n September 2015 their second effort Flesh established the band in the international alternative rock scene, having been featured in the February / 2016 edition of Prog Magazine. The band returned in Spring 2017 with Shades of Time, the first album to feature the six piece lineup and released under Into the Limelight Records.
