Ellesmere is the project of Roberto Vitelli, bass and guitar player of Tapobran. The new album Ellesmere II – From Sea And Beyond have a lot of talented musicians. The previous work from Ellesmere was dominated by flute and acoustic guitars. On the new album there is significantly more variety, much more energy and subtlety.
On the softer part there are some similarity with Yes, but the harder parts there are hints of King Crimson. Actually a quote from the Red in the second track. Ellesmere II – From Sea And Beyond offer some breathtaking chord changing sequences, some jazz prog and not at least much melodic symphonic fronted by many sort of keys. In addition there are some fascinating and refreshingly gloomy moods.
The front man in the band Roberto Vitelli plays numerous instruments on the album. Rickenbacker 4003 Jetglo Bass, Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, Taurus Moog I, Gibson Gold Top Guitar, Mellotron M400, Minimoog Model D, Prophet 5, Moog Voyager, Yamaha DX7 II, Kurzweil K2500, Roland JV 1080, Yamaha TX 81Z
