Wall Of Sleep - The Road Through Never

The Road Through Never is the new album of the cult Hungarian doom band Wall Of Sleep was released onlate in October, and the band now released the first lyric video for their new song, The Deserter. The Deserter translated to Hungarian is Hivatalos szöveges.
The structure of some of the songs were born before the addition of Zoltán Bátky BZ (vocals) to the band’s ranks, but they all have been finalized together by Sándor Füleki (guitars) and BZ, with additions by the rest of the band. A song from BZ’s previous works also made it to the album, the epic closing track, Fear.
Zoltán Bátky states,
«With the new record’s 8 songs we’ve managed to make the sound of Wall of Sleep even wider. The group tried to get away from the boundaries of doom/sludge, and this album mixes the old doomy sound of the band with hard rock, classic heavy metal, psychedelic and progressive elements like never before».
«Despite all our efforts our state support applications were thrown back four times, so we’ve decided to take things to our own hands. We’ve worked on the record at many places. The drums and the bass were recorded at Hangár Club in Sopron, with the assistance of Ferdinánd Ferenc Weisz, vocals were recorded in the studio of Gábor Nagy (Wisdom) and the guitars were recorded and mixed in Eger at the Standing Waves Studio by. Recordings of acoustic guitars, keyboards and additional editing took place in the home studios of the band members».
Most of the lyrics of the songs deal with the overpopulated, over-modernized world, the growing distance between individuals and psychological problems. Instrumentation and melody-wise the album is richer than the previous ones, and beside the powerful vocal lines the songs now contain more backing vocals and harmonies, much like in the previous bands of BZ.
