Inner Shrines is like their hometown Firenze historical, and they have now released their sixth full-length, Heroes. The band was founded 23 years ago, the epic doom symphonic metal collective which is credited for having introduced the soprano on the symphonic metal genre, presents an album mixed with symphonic opera and doom metal. Inner Shrine was formed by Luca Liotti and Leonardo Moretti in 1995 in Firenze in Italy. The aim of the band is and was to create a project of complete art, music, lyrics and images have to be the three shapes of the same idea. Luca Liotti plays guitar, synth, programs samples, and sings. Leonardo Moretti plays bass and writes the lyric. In 1996 Liotti and Moretti together with other five musicians release their Promo 1996 containing the tracks Fatum, Dream On, Subsidence and Outro.
Inner Shrines music was completely innovative for that period, the union of death metal, black metal, doom, progressive rock with death growls and a soprano voice. Nocturnal Rhymes Entangled in Silence was their first album. That album was the first step in the Alchemical Trilogy based on the three colors of Alchemy (black, white and red/gold). The aim of the band was to express in music a three albums’ concept on alchemy and western/oriental spirituality. Nocturnal Rhymes… is the black album. As every Inner Shrine’s album, Nocturna is full of symbols that can be found by the listeners in music, lyrics and images. Lyrics are in English and Ancient Latin.
