Green Desert Tree is a progressive rock band based in Berlin and their debut album Progressive Worlds will be released at the end of March. That album have the talented band been working with since 2016. Green Desert Tree are Influenced by the music of Steven Wilson, Emerson, Lake And Palmer, Deep Purple, Porcupine Tree. However, the band avoids simply quoting the famous role models and try hard to create their own sound. The young German use traditional 1970s soundscapes but they blend in modern elements of modern movie soundtracks, classical music and jazz. The result is a pretty tasteful prog with lots of riffs and even heavy riffs.
In music of GDT you will find elements of the music in the 70ies combined with modern Movie Soundtracks, Classical Music and Jazz. You will also find a lot of Rock and Heavy Rock Riffs in their music. They also skillfully combining tradition and modernity, and deliver a multi-layered and multifaceted concept album. The composer in the band is Tim Sund that plays keyboards and obviously enjoy that very much! Sund also enjoy composing with a great range of sounds and moods, and he is music wise ambitious. The lyric is about Mat Pludrot and has a atmospheric sound dominated by Sund’s spherical-floating keyboards.
