Despondent Chants – The Eyes Of Winter

The name Cuzco means navel. Cuzco was the capital and cultural and religious center of the Inca Empire. The Sun Temple Qurikancha was the not come from the Cuzco band Despondent Chants. They deliver a healthy dose of melodic death metal on their album The Eyes Of Winter. The lyrics from the Peruvian death, depression, sadness and chaos.
Despondent Chants was formed in 2002 by the brothers Carlos and Miguel Medina. The band shows up for the first time in the middle of 2003 having very good response from the audience. The first demo entitled Forgotten Roses On My Grave was recorded in 2004. The band played in different places of Peru obtaining good critics from the audience. In March 2006 the band was invited to the Iquique Metal fest in Chile. The Despondent Chants complication,
The second demo called The Lingering Silence was released in 2009. The band kept playing in many gigs like In nomine Doom and lately the more important show was Lima Metal Fest with bands like Nocturnus A.D. and many more. The band kept working on new songs and in September 2015, with a new line up the band enters the studio to record the first album. With 15 years the band is considered the more important Doom Death Metal band in Perú. The current line-up Carlos Medina with vocal and guitars, Eduardo Medina with guitars, Hubert Cardenas with bass, Emersson Macedo on drums.
The mastering of The Eyes Of Winter have been made by Jens Bogren and the cover art by Erlend Mørk. The first full length album of the Peruvian Metal band Despondent Chants has 8 tracks created under the shadows of the forest in the imperial city of Cusco.
