Funny, creative and whimsical band names are always welcome, and 35 Tapes is an example of that. The band is from Oslo an , are ready to release their debut album Lost & Found on Apollon Records and its sub-label Artemis Prog Records! 35 Tapes have a retro focus and are deeply inspired by the great band from the seventies. The band tries to recreate some of the good feelings this music gave us at that time merged with the typical Nordic vibes and mellowness you can find in fellow Norwegians such as Airbag , Oak and even A-Ha!
The sound of a Mellotron with 35 Tapes made lifelong impressions on some young souls in the mid and late 70’s. When they now as mature men are taking their life’s dedication to takemusic seriously, the band 35 Tapes is the result. The music are based on the sounds, tones and instruments they once learned to love. Their dogma is, not too many tones but the right ones, and not fixed chords but floating open and not virtuoso but true!
The statement This is ridiculously cool! was the reaction and comment of Jacob Holm-Lupo when he first heard some of the 35 Tapes songs. 35 Tapes are: Jarle Wangen on bass, guitars and handling the vocal duty, Morten Lund on guitars, keys and vocal and Bjørn Stokkeland is the drummer. The music is probably for fans of both progressive and classic rock, like Genesis, Camel , Marillion & Talk Talk. Lost And Found is available on LP, CD and digital download.
