Pale Season culminates in a guest vocal performance of powerful beauty from Heike Langhans (Draconian, Ison) on the penultimate epic Signals In The Sky, where the rich thematic content of this striking album coalesces into a doom-inflected totem of perseverance and wounded defiance.
Thenighttimeproject were formed 2010 in Avesta, Sweden by guitarist Fredrik Norrmann (ex-Katatonia, OctoberTide) as an outlet for bold, melancholic songwriting imbued with feeling. Not straying far from his most notable roots, Fredrik North Norrman deleivers together with his band amtes a pleasantly nostalgic road for those more familiar with his work in Katatonia. Joined by Tobias Netzell of In Mourning fame, along with Nicklas Hjertton, formerly of Mandylon, their self-titled debut album was released in January 2016. The album receives standing ovations from the press, and with a mix of rock, metal, progressive, doom, post-rock and psychedelic elements it is indeed an interesting ride for the listener.
Throughout, vocalist, guitarist and producer Alexander Backlund tempers emotive choruses of melodic light with a disaffected lyrical worldview, supported perfectly by ghostly electronic textures, lush keyboard adornments and the full-band telepathy of musicians at the top of their game.
The band releases the single Anti Meridian in 2017. Mattias Norrman (October Tide) joins the band on bass. Later this year Tobias Netzell and Nicklas Hjerttondecide leaved the band due to lack of time. The track Anti Meridian,
Last year the band was joined by Jonas Sköld (October Tide, Letters From The Colony) on drums and vocalist Alexander Backlund (Letters From The Colony). The band is now rehearsing for live shows.
