After more than two decades since the foundation Within Temptation are back with the new album, Resist. Here the band delivers a futuristic twist on metal to the table. They were done with orchestras and classic metal riffs they done it a thousand times before! This time Within Temptation expanded their horizon and gave their creative writing process a new blast.

Sharon Den Adel is reflecting on the turbulent few months that almost derailed one of the most commercial successful metal bands of the 21st century. Sat alongside her bandmate, husband and business partner she admits that a combination of burnout, writer’s block and life-altering personal issues meant that, for a time, the likelihood of a new Within Temptation album – of Within Temptation even existing – looked very, very uncertain. But now Resist is released and the future looks pretty bright again for Within Temptation.
Resist hardly feels like new, as Within Temptation have delivered songs regularly last year through social media. Sharon Den Adel always have the dominant role and is a delight to the ear with her deep voice register. She also dribbles into the soprano vocal on some songs, which provide associations with the early releases. The Reckoning, Raise Your Banner and Trophy Hunter are three very ok songs.
