Pervy Perkin have just released their third album! Comedìa: Inferno, and with it a new single with music video, Three Throats.
Comedìa: Inferno is the Spanish band`s definitely most aggressive release to date. It couldn’t be any other way, as it is a concept album part of an ambitious 3 full-album project in which they will adapt the amazing literature classic: The Divine Comedy, by Dante Alighieri. So, off this three albums, the first one is the one that they bring you now and deals with the first part of the Divine Comedy: Hell (Inferno). With such a theme, they bring out the most extreme part of Pervy Perkin and they are very happy with the result. The other two parts (intended to come in next year and the following) will be dramatically different musically but everything will flow through Dante’s amazing journey and story and through all the leitmotifs and reinterpretations they have designed for this project.
The Spain band refer to themselves as a progressive experimental rock/metal bands that originated in Murcia and now are located in Madrid, Spain. Some interestingly weird shit! Pervy Perkin honestly couldn’t wait to show this project they have been developing for the past year and a half (and has been planned for 6 or 7 years now). The cover has been painted by the amazing Mariusz Lewandowski, famous polish artist that has worked before with such bands as Bell Witch. His style of desolation and detail was exactly what they wanted for this record. The album has been produced by our very own Juan Tides, mixed by Adrian Hidalgo at Lasting Noise Studios and mastered by the great Tony Lindgren at the famous Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.(Opeth, Katatonia, Arch Enemy, and a looooong etc.
Each of the nine songs one the album Comedia Inferno represents one of Dante’s nine concentric circles of Hell. Some song are brutal and as for instance The Tempest, wild and with growl vocal but varied and complex and in the end pretty melodic. Three Throats are one of the more light songs on the album, but with heavy riffs and some very nice and interesting blues and jazz elements. The track Open Casket is the song where Pervy Perkin slow down for a short time. Calm and nice song with some jazz injections.
Comedìa: Inferno is a long album, actually 68 minutes! I`m impressed of the how naturally all the different styles seamless fit together. The musicians are very good to create songs that is interesting and the listeners want to hear over and over again. The music also have nice surprises and is obvious ambitious but nevertheless with the appealing unpretentious. Pervy Perkin manage to near to perfection to balance the often complex music. It is a great advantage that they are highly skilled musicians with ear to create good and exciting music. When 2019 is over then Comedia: Inferno may well be this year’s album?!
