In Amazonia is a record that shows how Isildurs Bane & Peter Hammill sounds when they join forces. Isildurs Bane is Sweden`s premier chamber rock ensemble and now they collaborate with the legendary Van Der Graaf Generator singer and acclaimed solo artist, Peter Hammill, who sing throughout the whole album. The live track Patient,
In Amazonia is a bold and fascinating statement that marries Isildurs Banes reputation for imaginative risk-taking music composed by keyboardist Mats Johansson and the voice and intensive lyrics of prog sphere music most enduring and uncompressing legends. The seed of the collaboration happened when Hammill gusted the Isildurs Bane`s annual IB Expo two years ago. This event where artists from all over the world are invited to come and work together for a week and then present a special one-off concert.
Having previously collaborated with marilllion`s Steve Hogarth on their album Colours Not Founded from 2017. Johamsson was keen to see if another vocalisthe respected would be interested to work with the ensemble. Working with Hammill on the concert was so special for Johansson, and he then wondered how a whole record would sound? He had a lot of new music, actually enough for four albums, ready but most of it was abstract but workable. Hammill`s unique voice would proably fit perfect to the music? After listening to In Amazonia we could without doubt determine that this is a successful collaboration and a lot of great and well-composed songs. The live tracks My Room and Funeral March
