Rictus: With consuming and large-scale project
Rictus – V. Dorian

The Band Rictus started in the spring of 2014 when aspiring artists and musicians Matt Wees and Andy Meyer met through an organization studying Kung Fu and associated martial arts. After endless hours of talking about metal and music, ideas came of starting a project of their own, thus spawning what would become the multi-faceted project, originally titled Rictus Vulgaris, translating loosely to A forced smile so vulgar that your face decays over time! In November Rictus released their debut album Leprotic Mass. The debut EP from 2016 The Offering where with groove metal/deathcore but the debut album is with progressive death metal. The tracks Wicked One and Incurison,
Leprotic Mass was very well received by the metal community, and encouraged by this the musicians in Rictus started working on producing the video V. Dorian,
All physical arts and the extensive costume fabrications were executed by lead composer and guitarist/vocalist Matt Wees, while the post production and direction of photography was fronted by lead arranger and bassist/co-vocalist Andy Meyer. This was a very time consuming and large-scale project for the group to undertake, being a completely new experience for everyone. Naturally the Rictus member are very proud of the end result but want to assure you that this is not the last you will see from Leprotic Mass!
