The Neighbourhood Watch is a Toronto-based band and they have obvious humor and self-irony. They states, «The Neighbourhood Watch started out as a trio of barbaric and problematic individuals with a lot to say. We fused hip hop, funk, reggae, dub, jazz, soul, folk, world music, blues and spoken word. The Neighbourhood Watch still look out for our neighbours! We now mixes genres such as Gypsy/Jungle/Jazz/World Music/Dub/Indian classical and Soul or whatever fits! We are the Neighbourhood Watch, we use the power of confusion with oh so many fusions, we have vitamin d deficiencies yet are lovers of the moon». The Neighbourhood Watch was formed in 2016 at the Etobicoke School Of The Arts. In August 2017, after a summer of successful live shows in and around Toronto, they went into the Green Door Studio in Ronscesvalles Village and recorded their first album Community Protecte in 6 and 1/2 hours, live off the floor. The success of that album led them to go back behind the Green Door in the summer of 2018 to record their follow-up album Goodbye Childhood. They have spent more time on this record, inviting guest musicians to help build their vision, their own version of a rock opera. The track You Don`t Know The Truth,
