Sail By Summer’s debut album is entitled Casual Heaven, and the music is not the kind of music we normally write about. The reason we make an exception is that Sail By Summer has something melancholic and distinctive that appeals to us. The lyric is about longing, lack of self-confidence, songs about indifference and choice of directions. It could be Big Thief, Charlie Cunningham or Death Cab For Cutie, inspired by the sound of epic bands like The Cure, Pink Floyd and Spiritualized.
