A good year of writing and recording later, Oyka! was finally ready. Manntra’s singer Marko M. Sekul produced the album, but it was written by the whole band and thus displays a harmonic representation of the 5 members. Before starting the writing process, Manntra fetched some inspiration from old villages in Croatia on the Adriatic coast. They talked to the old, native people, listened to stories and legends and soon they got dipped into the mystic of these energies, which lastly led to this hybrid of modernity, traditional folk with gothic-atmosphere and industrial-power.
Oyka! (in Croatian) means a girl, who is still a virgin and is waiting to get picked by a man. So it’s an invitation to lose your own, musical virginity and the completely absorb Manntra!
