The sound of the band Imagin’Aria ranges in the prog area with an eclecticism and an irrepressible creative vein, reviewing styles and sounds but never losing their goal, that of communicating a message, a strong content. In the late 80’s, five university students vowing a common admiration for Metallica, Iron maiden and the likes formed the band Physeter under that moniker, they covered their idols’ material while composing a few pieces of their own. As new members entered their circle, however, they started to integrate other influences into their sound, borrowing from the more symphonic style of PFM o Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso renaming themselves Imagin’aria, they released a first of three albums that prompted a series of concerts sponsored by Heineken and earned them a couple of stage appearances with Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso as well as a contribution on a Demetrios Stratos tribute. Back then it was Ivan Peasso on lead guitar and Fabio Biffignandi on drums, although the main nucleus formed by Daniele Perico on vocals, Andrea Peasso on bass and Gian Luca Milan on guitar. After some demos well reviewed by the specialized press, Lizard Records is interested in the group and in 1996 it publishes the first CD entitled in another when, 45 minutes of progressive rock that see their climax in Bluebeard, a 14-minute suite halfway between rock and medieval folk. In March of 1999, La Tempesta was released, and three years later Esperia was published, the result of two years of work. The album effectively combines rock with electronics and folk, thanks to the collaboration of numerous guest-friends. It is acclaimed as the best work of the band.
