Temple Of Nihil: Devoted to chaos, death and nothingness
Temple Of Nihil - Schadenfreude

Kaluga (Russian: Калу́га) is a city and administrative center in Kaluga oblast in Russia. Kaluga is also the hometown to the black metal band Temple Of Nihil founded four years ago by Pavel Guslyakov and Pavel Kurilenko – musicians who had long experience in other bands. In the spring of 2016 the band recorded an EP Soul Extremis, which was released in December of the same year by Symbol Of Domination and Narcoleptica Prod. In 2017, drummer Nikolai Vykhodtsev joined the band.
Now Temple Of Nihil is back with a new album entitled Scadenfreude. The conceptual basis of the album is existential nihilism and the Nietzschean idea of overcoming the human being. Also lyrics of songs are devoted to chaos, death and nothingness. As on the debut EP, Warkhoros did the mastering of the album. The artwork by W.Smerdulak.
Fortunately, Schadenfreud is just as engaging as the philosophy that inspired it. In some ways, it reminds me of mid-period Rotting Christ, particularly Theogonia. In other ways, it has the same austere, mid-tempo feel that Dark Fortress did so well on Ylem. It’s dark, majestic, and just melodic enough to burrow its way inside your skull and stay there for the rest of the day.
