Starless Domain is the trinity of individual underground artist coming together under the banner of Deep Field Black Metal. Through gazing upon the night sky from tops of the mountain, cosmic powders were absurd through each members mind eye. It has been the fate of the infinite universe each members together to mold and harness the vastness of space in its music. Eos is the second album and with only one song, but this song is real epic with its 58.07 minutes. The first was Alma and as on Eos with themes focused on deep space, auras, emptiness, uncertainty and science fiction.
The music on Eos might be considered too experimental for many listeners, but I enjoy the attitude to explore such bold and adventures music. I always applaud musicians who want to experiment to go their own way. Sometimes things go really wrong, but the chance to succeed is appealing as something new, exciting and unique is created. Eos begins with an eerie synthesizer sound highlighted by several types of sound effects and the listener is effectively transported to far places out in space.
Fear and discomfort increase throughout the song and dark guitar riffs emerge and the music becomes manic and with more energy. As the inhuman screams grow louder and with increasing frequency, the feeling of grotesque torture becomes overwhelming.
Eos delivers horror and sci-fi in large doses and for almost an hour. Probably an hour’s song will be much in excess for some? Those who manage to hang out all the time probably have a fantastic hour in the horror room.
