Two of the Premiata Forneria Marconi albums are milestones in prog in my and many others opinion. Storia De Un Minuto and Per Un Amico are classics and both was released in 1972. PFM btw means the first-class bakery for Forneria. As a young man, I learned all the names of the musicians in PFM. Especially the bassist and vocalist Georgio Fico Piazza fascinated me.
Now Piazza return to the music scene with the album Autumn Shades. The album is recorded live in studio and retraces the songs of Piazza`s PFM. The songs is taken from the two best PFM album and are Impressioni Di Settembre.
There are many young people of a new generation of very talented musicians of the record. Piazza has been able to recreate the spirit pioneering of the original Premiata Forneria Marconi in a very convincing way. Revisiting the songs of the first two extraordinary, unforgettable albums with proud passion and high octane energy! The release day of the album wasn`t random as September the 6th was the beginning Veruno’s Festival Prog.
Piazza is a legend and a wise old man and he is on the album surrounded by young people who are diligent and resourceful and who make their own mark on the music. He states, «The record is an ode to music, which as a bridge that stands out sternly through the fall of your journey gives you another chance to transform – with the charm of its notes – the leaves that, like autumn shadows, return to shine with infinite , sparkling drops of dew, towards a radiant, bursting new spring ».
