The album Cross Contamination features 8 tracks of old school thrash metal with a lot of 240 bpm parts. The band behind the album Cross Contamination is Intoxicate who hails from Gothenburg, Sweden. The band was formed in 1988 as one of the first thrash bands in that area. Three demo tapes were released and got some recognition in the worldwide underground-scene until they split in 1991.
Intoxicate were asked to reunite for a gig at Gothenburg Sound Festival in 2015, a tribute-festival for the bands that created The Gothenburg Sound. It didn’t go so well. Half Homo Habilis from Västra Frölunda was merged with half Demoniac from Kortedala to form Intoxicate, after seeing each other’s ads at MUG, Music Without Borders, Gothenburg’s best music store and hangout for anyone with longer hair than the cut. This is history now, but the album Cross Contamination is the present, and proof of what Intoxicate can offer now!
