Unfortunately, I have written quite a few obituaries about musicians over the past few years. It is therefore gratifying that this article about Ozzy Osbourne is not an obituary, yet it is serious that Ozzy Osbourne has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
Ozzy Osbourne, known as the Prince Of Darkness, and for his crazy stunts both on stage and off. He is also a highly respected musician, and very well-liked by most music lovers. Two examples of this are these statements:
«Honestly, just enjoy your life. You don’t need to go on tour anymore. Live your life in its fullest, travel, start something new, get to know different places, all as a regular human being. You don’t need to prove anything else».
«Seeing him in this state of mind kills me. I’m freaking bawling my eyes out! He has ALWAYS been my idol and to see him so sad hurts! I KNOW that Sharon will stop at nothing to see he gets the BEST help possible, so I will hope and pray for sweet, sweet Ozzy».
Ozzy Osborne says of the disease, « It has been incredibly challenging for all of us. I did my last show on New Year’s Eve at The Forum». Osborne being the optimist he always was, wants to return to the stage as soon as possible! There are so many different types of Parkinson’s, but it’s not neccesary a death sentence. Normally some days are really bad and some are quite ok. He was also hospitalized in February of last year following complications from a flu. He says he was diagnosed then, after pneumonia and a fall at home in Los Angeles, which led to an operation that destroyed all of his nerves.
Osborne was for many years vocalist and front man in the band Black Sabbath, which played their last concert in 2017. After that he has had several solo tours, but not without interruption due to his health issues.
