The Arc Light Sessions is a studio based project begun in 2013 which specializes in symphonic progressive rock. It is the brainchild of keyboardist and composer John Alarcon who released two previous offerings under the name Synthology on the now defunct Fossil Records label.

The Arc Light Sessions is a studio project which specializes in symphonic progressive rock. The ultimate goal for The Arc Light Sessions is to create quality rather than aim at generating mass appeal. The Arc Light Sessions have a focus on the more pastoral elements in music rather than riffing. The music is also not about length for length’s sake. The songs develop organically and contain musical passages where warranted but the intent is to have them fit thematically into each piece. The track Wasn`t Born Yesterday,

The Arc Light Sessions were founded mainly by the front man / composer / producer / keyboardist John Alarcon, who has a long career (for over 40 years) as a musician. He was born in Madrid and immigrated to Canada at the age of 8. He began to play classical piano at 11, but soon was immersed in one of the great keyboardists named Keith Emerson. Getting remarkable inspired by lots of progressive rock vanguards like ELP, Genesis, King Crimson, PFM, Anthony Phillips or Steve Hackett, by jazz artists like Pat Metheny, or by various classical composers like Bach, Chopin, or Hendel … he has developed his keyboard technique or composition. The track A Place For You,

Since 2000 he has formed a couple of rock combos in collaboration with friends, and released two albums Between Day And Night and The Fairest Of Moments, in 2000 and 2002 respectively under the moniker Synthology . Finally The Arc Light Section was founded in 2015 with a singer Chris Atwill and their debut album Perchance To Dream was released.

Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
