Snatch Back – Ride Hard Run Free

Snatch Back was formed 1974 and split in 1983 but thirty-three years later they actually reformed with the original lineup. Now the band release their debut album Ride Hard Run Free. The album was mixed/mastered by Bart Gabriel & Rafal Kossakowski at Sound Art Agencja Artystyczna Studios in Trezbinia, Poland. The track Hard Time,
Snatch Back was as mentioned above formed in 1974 at St. Helens, England by John Cowley (vocals), Ste Byatt (guitar), Ian Wood (bass) and Ste Platt (drums). The band released their single Eastern Lady /Cryin’ To The Night in 1979. In 2016 they reunited to release their EP Back In The Game and have played several large events, including Mearfests North & South.
Snatch Back were honoured to feature in Malc MacMillan’s tome The Encyclopedia of The New Wave Of Brtish Heavy Metal but the entry was brief and no one seemed to have much info on the band.
Ste Byatt and Ian Wood decided to try and get the original line up of the band back together in 2016, but had no idea where drummer Ste P and singer John Crawley were. Some social media searching and contact with their old road crew meant every original member was contactable and they were making music again.
The original idea was to have some fun and record some of our original songs for their own amusement. However, the word leaked out that they were in rehearsal and tehy offered the headline spot at WestFest, St.Helens.
