Days Of Depths is a pretty fascinating and innovative band from Belgium that takes you along a dark and instrumental journey. Basically it’s very dramatic Postrock influenced by God Is An Astronaut, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Amenra. Days Of Depth doesn’t make any compromises with other music genres. They just create their own genre called Drama. Using some earlier work from guitarist and driving force behind Days Of depth, David Ooms, they have made a actually unique experience. That is something Permafrost always applauds if it sounds good, and yes Days Of Depth even sounds very good.
The track 1VNTA20032012(BLACK)0755iIs a slow instrumental song filled with samples and the typical Days of Depths bitcrushing drums underneath. Basically post-rock with a dark vibe and an industrial feel plus an apocalyptic climax towards the end,
Days Of Depths have live shows and visuals take things to another dimension. In addition Days Of Depths also has the sense of song titles with lots of numbers and letters. Seemingly completely meaningless, but probably there is a meaning to these numbers and letters. This creates a lot of excitement and is mysterious and exiting. The debut album also has an extensive use of numbers, 1-0000-0000-0000. The track A13U6.R657AS,
Due to the pandemic crisis David Ooms who is busy daily with Reddrumstudio’s many chores finally got time to make his own music. The result as mentioned above 1-0000-0000-0000. Basically it’s a very dramatic Post-Rock influenced album with a combination of dark melodies and apocalyptic climaxes. No words – Massive sounds! Let the music do the talking! Ooms is a guitarist and driving force behind Days Of depth and on the debut album ha reasonable enough using some earlier work.
