Joviac: Honesty, sincerity and freedom of expression….

Joviac – Here And Now

The finish band Joviac’s mantra is «Honesty, sincerity and freedom of expression».

Joviac has gone forward leaps and bounds on their sophomore effort, titled Here And Now. The album was written and recorded in a year, and the resulting seven songs truly represent the amount of growth and musical evolution that the band has gone through. The title track Here And Now with Matias Kupiainen and Joonas Parkkonen who lent their guitar solo mastery!

Viljami Jupiter Wenttola states, «In many ways you could call this our first album. Even though I’m very proud of our older material, this album showcases us as a collective and a real band ready to take on the world. Once I started writing the album, I couldn’t stop. It became clear very fast that this material was waiting to explode out of my head. I gave myself a deadline of about 6 months to come up with this material, and luckily inspiration was never too far away for me to find. Of course it must be said that Antti (Bass) and Rudy (Drums) brought their own spice into the arrangements, and the end result is something that we can all be immensely proud of».

«Janne Korpela did an amazing job mixing the album, and I was elated and relieved because I had a real pro to take care of the technical aspects so that I could focus on just being the creativedirector/producer. Truly, I couldn’t have hoped for a better team to work with. The drums were recorded at the pristine Electric Fox Studios in Jyväskylä, and all the rest was laid down at our apartments in Tampere. The process was totally painless and we had a lot of fun on the journey». The album was mastered by Teemu Liekkala (Red Eleven). The track The Straw,

Joviac was formed in late 2016 by front man Viljami Jupiter Wenttola asa necessary artistic outlet. With a strong vision and an unrelenting compulsion to express himself through the medium of music, he set out to form Joviac.

The first album was recorded as a two man effort with Antti Varjanne joining in to play bass. The goal was to get the ball rolling and hit the ground running with a handful of songs to show what the band was all about while searching for the rest of the member lineup.

Viljami Jupiter Wenttola states, «I founded Joviac because I needed to. No matter the moniker or channel, I was always looking for ways to express myself and relate to people through music. I learned through years of trial and error that I needed to start a band where I could write the kind of music that I needed to write and say what I needed to say. It’s that freedom that also makes Joviac’s music very personal and sincere. It’s honest and driven only by my core values instead of aesthetics or external factors.”

The project quickly grew into a full-fledged band in 2017 with the addition of Rudy Fabritius on drums and Janne Korpela as a live second guitarist. The band started playing shows around Finland and quickly gained attention and underground notoriety wherever they played. In 2018 the band released their first recorded work as a full band. The single, titled State Of Mind was a nice mission statement of things to come while they refined their live set further and kept working on new material.

Now finally the band have as mentioned above release their sophomore effort, titled Here And Now. The band has gone forward immensely and the album delves deeper into every direction with more expression, emotion, nuance and flavor to tick progressive music lovers’ boxes and press all the right buttons in the listeners’ minds and hearts.

About Ulf Backstrøm (7129 Articles)
Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
