Tiffin, Iowa is a city of approx. 2000 inhabitants, and at least one of these is a professional musician, namely multi-instrumentalist J. Ryan Seaba. He formed the American Groove Metal band Tragedy Mask last year, and now he have released his debut album Theatrum Tragoedia. Tragedy Mask is an extreme solo project and metal without borders, Tragedy Mask’s music is not written to satisfy one particular genre, rather focusing on visceral heaviness and melodic atmosphere. Theatrum Tragoedia was recorded in LKS Recordings and mixed/mastered by Tobias Falk. The track Sisyphus,
There are much happening on the theatrical Theatrum Tragoedia and crazy amalgam hair metal solos, groovy riffs, prog bass lines, atmospheric noises, gutturals, break down, NWOBHM vocal screams. Expect the unexpected and healthy doses of schizophrenic metal extravaganza, but in a good way. Because of all the diverse blend of metal genres the listener cold listen over and over again and probably find something new and often thrilling each time. The track Generation Supernova,
This record is something absolutely something for us that enjoy some music hardly heard before. Very unique and exciting. Some high soprano outburst, some death metal there, filled with soulful vocals ranging from deep growls to screams and shrieks a la Robert Plant and even some nu metal vibes.
