Dim Gray: With ambitious and distinct musical statement….
Dim Gray - Flown

Dim Gray are: Håkon Høiberg—guitars, vocals, Oskar Holldorff—vocals, keyboards and Tom Ian Rogne Klungland—drums, vocals.
Flown is the debut album from Dim Gray and a post-progressive journey in which the songs intertwine to form more than the sum of their parts. Structured like one continuous story, the album tells a vivid tale of loss and loneliness that twists and turns. Quiet, intimate moments are contrasted by sections of massive soundscapes containing varied and colorful instrumentation. Rooted in the near-constants of aching vocals and trembling guitars, the album weaves its way from strings-infused chamber pop through dark indie folk into grandiose art rock. Flown is an ambitious and distinct musical statement that evokes a nice blend of Radiohead, Fleete Foxes, Susanne Sundfør, Steven Wilson and Sigurd Rós. The track Ráth,

The three members have contrasting musical backgrounds, having experience with diverse genres such as black metal, progressive rock, blues, folk and film music. By fusing these entirely different references and tastes in music, the trio has arrived at a distinctly unique musical idiom. The track Light Anew
Their 52 minute debut album was released June 12, preceded by the four singles Ráth, Again, Light Anew and Ouroboros. The album, titled Flown, is a concept album where the songs intertwine to form more than the sum of their parts, and in which the bands’ dedication to solid craftsmanship and desire to break new ground comes to light. Structured like one continuous story, the album tells a vivid tale of loss and loneliness that twists and turns. Quiet, intimate moments are contrasted by sections of massive soundscapes containing varied and colorful instrumentation. The track Ouroboros,
The band has already performed one filmed live-session and are filming another session this summer. An acoustic livestream is also planned for the summer, and a grand release show for Flown will take place in Oslo on October 3.
Veronica Stensvold from Disharmoni states enthusiastic about Dim Gray, «What captivates is the quality, and the blend between warmth and cold, fast and slow, darkness and light… Sit back and enjoy, experience and feel this masterpiece. Pure pleasure!».
