Nagaarum: With an eclectic mix of genres…..
Nagaarum - Covid Diaries

Today we travel to Hungary and the band Nagaarum and its album Covid Diaries an album brimming with an eclectic mix of psychedelic, ambient, noise and metal. The track The Liquid Tomorrrow,
Nagaarum states, «Although I said there will be no Nagaarum record this year, but the big 2020 pandemic has come in, which is terribly inspiring. Anyone who knows my work knows that I wrote a record in 2014 about a big epidemic that would explode in 2019 – looking at it from there in the future. Since this is unfortunately right here on our necks as well, I feel like I have to write the real story as well, about the version that can be fitted alongside Rabies Lyssa, the realization or fulfillment». The track I Am Special,
«But I like to twist things into two or three, so this album is going to be made live now, so as soon as a piece is done, it goes out to our publisher’s YouTube page. Understand: I’ll release it by song – and when it’s done, it will be released on the Bandcamp interface in its entirety and for a free download. This is a very exciting task for me now, and I hope for those of you who followed, because based on the feedback, you can even influence the process of the Nagaarum songwriting process, which is already drowning in total eclecticism».
The resulting music manifested in the album Covid Diaries, this was recorded over a period of weeks. Tracks were released digitally, in conjunction with the worldwide progress of the disease, and supplemented with listener feedback being received. Both elements were important in creating each following track and ultimately guiding the album toward its denouement, a totally eclectic creative process which one might expect from a Nagaarum album. The track The Competitors,
Covid Diaries is one of the finest Nagaarum releases to date – six tracks of obscure, doomed sounds. A diverse and eclectic mix of ambient soundscapes, noisy segues, isolated doom and pained outbursts. Nagaarum was joined by reliable guest, Roland Szabó, who enhanced this record with his voice and his English translations. Whilst the entire process was overseen by loyal producer, Betty Varga.
If this is what a pandemic indirectly creates – then long live the lockdown.
