San Diego hard rock band Sons On Fire drop their debut EP, entitled Faded, via Pavement Entertainment. Faded features four heavy, powerful tracks that let listeners know what the group is all about.
Drummer Bill Nychay says, «This record was over a year in the making. With so many diverse influences, we think we have recorded a perfect blend of everything we love in music, and hopefully everyone else will agree. We’ve all been in other bands and have always wanted to play or record with each other. This record is that reality».
Sons On Fire’s lineup comes from the ashes of the former acts One Theory, Southern Reign, and Kicking K8. The band consists of: Chuck Bouchonnet – Guitar, Johnny McKinney – Bass, Bill Nychay – Drums, Darren Brown – Vocals and Trevor Edwards – Guitar.The title track Faded,
In 2006, during the Myspace era, Kicking K8 was amongst the biggest of unsigned acts of that time. Shortly after, friends In This Moment and Hollywood Undead both got signed due to their relentless self-promotion on Myspace. Learning from them, soon it was Kicking K8’s turn, signing with Crash Music/ EMI (Now Pavement Entertainment). After a great 2009/2010 debut record and countless shows criss crossing the US on shows with such heavy weights as Disturbed, Godsmack, Stone Sour, Three Days Lloyd, That hiatus proved to be set in stone…………
Flash forward late to 2019, former members of KK8 start a new project that now includes vocalist Darren Brown from fellow San Diego bands One Theory and guitarist Trevor Edwards from Southern Reign. Sons on Fire was complete.
The band is comprised of very diverse musicians and draws from so many influences from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Metallica and everything in between. Sons On Fire just finished recording their debut EP for a middle 2020 release. Friend and National syndicated radio host LA Lloyd (Rock 30) invited the band to showcase at this years South By Southwest Music Fest in Austin Texas happening Mar 19th, 2020.
