Becoming The Lion: Born in a Midwestern basement in 2009…..

Becoming The Lion – Unearthly Creature

Starting in 2010 with one man’s dream, an experiment with heavy riffs and rhythmic melodies came to be. Now Becoming The Lion is taking those original melodic instrumentals and finally add vocals to fill this project out. Taking influence from progressive metal and post-hardcore bands like Deftones, Thrice and Oceansize, Becoming The Lion adds a unique twist to this crowed style.

«Soaring melodies soaring over chugging riffs abound on Becoming the Lion’s (2015) release Atoma. A well-executed mostly instrumental album, it touches on a bunch of different influences throughout its length. Definitely for fans of the Cloudkicker/Russian Circles school of instrumental metal».-The Sludgelord

Somber and emotive, yet never losing its heavy edge, Wisconsin post-metal outfit Becoming The Lion is excited to release their fourth album Unearthly Creature this December.  A much-anticipated follow-up to their 2018 album Ghosts Of A Fallen Soldier, this new work showcases the group’s evolution from a one-man project to a collaborative, multi-faceted endeavor.  Its six thoughtful tracks offer ambience that fans of Russian Circles, Cloudkicker, and Deftones will sink into with bliss. The track Silent Return is a song about healing with a promise to endure.

Born in a Midwestern basement in 2009, Becoming the Lion has evolved from an instrumental solo project to a post-metal four-piece that channels Russian Circles, Deftones, and more.  With Ross Blomgren on guitar, and vocals, Dan Mazur on guitar and vocals, Grant Chapman on bass and Dennis Paterkiewicz on drums, Becoming the Lion released the Ghosts of a Fallen Soldier EP in 2018 and is looking forward to unleashing the follow-up EP Unearthly Creature in 2020. Lyrics on The track Rise And Fall, A Legend Is Born,

We’re So far away, with only a name. We’re so far away, we’re so far from home. I am alive holding the sky. With all I can find, I won’t leave this time. Removing lies, with only my eyes. A vacant path, once more bears life. How lovely this fire feels, burning away my fall. We’re So far away, with only a name. We’re so far away, we’re so far from home. I am alive holding the sky. With all I can find, I won’t leave this time. I will (I know we’ll) survive, if only to shine, holding the sky. With all I (Stand here we) can find, a moment to shine, I won’t leave this time.

Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
