Thud Bukit: Death Metal you can laugh at!

Thud Bukit – Plague Rats

American Death Metal band Thud Bukit released their debut album W.T.A.F. The album was recorded at Absolute Darkness Studios by Ron Dorn and mixed and mastered by William Blackmon. The concept behind the album is “2020 sucks and we are bored..so let’s try and do something fun”.

Thud Bukit is a new joke-based Death/Thrash band in the vein of Dethklok, S.O.D, or Alestorm. The band features Ron Dorn (ex-impaled, current Absolute Darkness) doing almost all the music and lead vocals, and Matthew Legare writing the lyrics and doing backup vocals and ukulele solos.

Plague Rats – You know who you are. Wear a goddamn mask.

Thud Bukit presents Plague Rats, our public service announcement to just wear a damn mask!  This track is on Thud Bukit’s debut album, WTAF.

Thud Bukit is a Comedic Death Metal project consisting of two people, half a continent apart, who decided that now was the perfect time to do something this weird.

We can’t decide if this project started on a bet, a dare, or when Ron called Matthew’s bluff about writing a death metal song

Band Members: Ron Dorn, Matthew Legare

Ron Dorn is a guitarist, bassist, singer and drummer.

He was a founding member of Impaled from 1993 (then know under the name Infanticide) until 1998 where he was the bassist.

He is also the founding and current member of the band Absolute Darkness. Since 2015 he has been the primary songwriter, rhythm guitarist, and vocalist, while also dabbling in drums and lead guitar, though the current iteration of Absolute Darkness now has a dedicated drummer and lead guitarist (this is for the best)

He has been active in the 70,000 Tons Metal Cruise community, where since 2015 he has provided a free of charge and robust open source iOS and Android app to accompany the cruise. Yearly improvements are always provided and other members of the 70k community contribute band description, UI designs, and other support for the app.

Now with the debut album of Thud Bukit he is jumping into comedy metal…because during a global pandemic…why not!

Ron Dorn as been a lifelong resident of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Matthew Legare has spent the last 50+ years going in a dozen directions at once. In between bouts as a semi-pro drunken pirate, he’s also been a Magician, Burlesque MC, Demonstrably Bad Poet, Writer, Actor, and a dozen other jobs which have provided him with Valuable Exposure Bucks and not much else. He’s currently writing and performing Geeky, Nerdy, Goofy songs as Troubadork online because, well, plague. Once the plague lifts, they might let him do some of this other stuff again. He plays a number of stringed instruments reasonably and a number of other instruments badly. Due to this, he’s learned that «Give me money and I’ll stop» is a valid business model.

Matthew Legare found his way into this project when he posted a flippant comment on Facebook about the need for a Death Metal song entitled Per My Last Email. Ron Dorn (his friend for over 20 years) called his bluff and prodded him to write the lyrics. Ron Dorn then wrote the music… and it worked. 9 songs later, here’s the album. You can blame Matthew Legare for most of the words, the band name, some of the vocals, and the ukulele riff on Happy Go Fuck Yourself.

He lives in an undisclosed location in San Antonio, Texas, with two cats, an astonishingly patient spouse, and thousands of unmarketable skills.

Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
