The first single The Strain is out on all major streaming services. Malacoda announces their second release of the year, The Strain, on July 16th. This EP capitalizes on the band’s mastery over dynamic spaces, with long epic passages filled with twists and turns to keep listeners on their toes.

«There really is a balance of dark aggression and beauty in these songs». Frontman Lucas Di Mascio states. «That’s been the consistent tone with these four tracks- keeping it dark but letting some tender spots poke through».

With music described as «dark, foreboding and with lyrics to enjoy as well as unsettle». (Powerplay Mag UK) being a constant in the band’s sound, the next step would be to write a follow up to Restless Dreams. While looking for a drummer, the band recorded throughout the rest of 2019/2020 with friends behind the drum kit. Artwork by Yeganeh Ghasemi.
