Wax Mekanix: Together with Troll Teeth….

Wax Mekanix / Troll Teeth - Blunt

Friends are great to have, and when friends make music together it’s mostly exciting. On October 8th, Electric Talon Records dropped the video for the new single Head.  It’s from the split with Vax Mekanix labelmates, Troll Teeth. The EP is entitled Blunt and was released October 22 on all major digital platforms exclusively by Electric Talon.

What happens when wo Electric Talon artists sit in the same room together? Blunt happens.

Wax Mekanix and Troll Teeth, coming off of their respective 2020 releases entitled Mobocracy and Goes Nowhere, Does Nothing, have teamed up to release one of the most diverse splits of 2021. What happens when you mix acoustic-rooted psychedelia and hard-nosed stoner rock? Well, you’ll soon find out. Upon Wax Mekanix reaching out to fellow label brethren Troll Teeth, both artists set out on a mission to challenge themselves artistically; taking the lull in live music to hone their craft and deliver their fans with something new yet familiar.

«We at Troll Teeth used this EP to experiment a little with songwriting and performing» says Troll Teeth front man Moe Eccles «We tried to get out of our comfort zone a little more than we normally do. Wax Mekanix follows this up by stating «If you’re expecting Mobocracy version 2.0, or me to pander for streams, followers, eyeballs, or likes by calculating some kind of mind-numbing, mouth-breathing sameness, I ain’t your guy».

From the almost tribal backbeats of Freak Boutique and Head, to the hard nosed in your face fuzz of Barbs On The Wire, Blunt will leave your ears feeling satisfied and itching for more from each of these artists. Blunt will be available October 22nd, 2021 on all major digital platforms courtesy of Electric Talon Records

«If you’re expecting Mobocracy version 2.0, or me to pander for streams, followers, eyeballs, or likes by calculating some kind of mind-numbing, mouth-breathing sameness, I ain’t your guy.  If you’re hankering for some groovy and glorious nourishment for your gnoggin and hips, drop these three funky nuggets into your ears.  Then come see me and my courageous crew for more mind-expanding

Troll Teeth

«We at Troll Teeth used this EP to experiment a little with songwriting and performing. We tried to get out of our comfort zone a little more than we normally do. For example we have some slap bass on the one song, which is not something you see too many Doom or Sludge bands messing around with. This should be a fun EP to listen to because of the clashing styles between Troll Teeth & Wax Mekanix where we both come at songwriting and recording from two completely different angles but have songs with the same kind of attitude and energy».

Waxim Wax Ulysses Mekanix is an American musician, songwriter, performer, producer, artist, and founding member of American cult rockers Nitro. Not to be confused with the Hollywood band. Wax’s vetted perspective and tested work can best be described as raw, bold, uncompromising, authentic, and disconcerting. Mobocracy is Wax Mekanix’s new release with Philadelphia based record label, Electric Talon Record. Mobocracy is a focused collection of strident, aggressive, snarling, howling songs that draws on Wax`s decades of experience and influences.

Wax states about hislast  album Mobocrazy , «I crafted this record to be a strong statement about America’s current state of animosity and decay that features me on lead vocals, guitars, drums, and percussion throughout, as well as an array of talented guest musicians such as Brandon Yeagley and Chris Bishop of Crobot»

«History shows us that artists will not let this kind of tectonic shift in American life pass without comment. I’m just commenting now».

Tom Altman: Acoustic Guitar, Bass (Tracks 1 & 3)

Stephen Burdick: Acoustic Guitar (Tracks 1 & 3)

Marissa Wolner: Backing vocals: (Tracks 1 & 3)

M11SON: Backing vocals (Tracks 1 & 3)

Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
