When Theia Created The Moon - Would It Kill Us Not to Kill Us?

When Theia Created The Moon was founded during the pandemic isolation of spring 2020, WTCtM aimed to shake up the metal-scene like Theia once sent the proto- earth into tremors. Bone-breaking, head-banging, emotive death metal that oscillates between melodically and mushy parts, sprinkled with some technical sparks on top of it – the right mixture of groove and crazy to bang-dance out of the pandemic!

When Theia Created the Moon was formed in 2020 in Berlin, Germany by Christian Weißgerber (vocal/guitar), Marius Tausch (vocals/saxophone), Thomas Lade (bass) and Sascha Bühl (drums). The band describes their music as a bone-breaking, head banging, emotive death metal that oscillates between melodic and mushy parts, sprinkled with some technical sparks on top of it – the right mixture of groove and crazy to bang-dance out of the pandemic.
The song Thanatochronos as well as the video address the self-destructive tendencies of human civilization and the fallout of the Anthropocene. The title ‘Thanatochronos’ is derived from the ancient greek words thanatos (Death) and chronos (Time, Era). The sad reality of our currents times gives it a gloomy topicality… Let’s find the courage to fathom the destructive parts of human existence and a better way to deal with them than killing each other.
