Galaxy: Emerged from oblivion!

Galaxy Runaway Men

25 years ago the band Galaxy have a bunch of songs that was recorded but never mixed and released. Now the album has been brought forth from oblivion. The album actually didn`t have a name until now!

Sometimes, and I do mean sometimes, an undiscovered jewel from the past is brought to life. Runaway Men is a record that was recorded in 1997 by the Dutch rock band Galaxy but the album remained unmixed and was never released. It even did not have an official title. Until now….

Galaxy have fourteen years existence from 1983 to 1987, and operated with old-fashioned mini-CD and cassettes, but with no success. They build their own studio and spend much time working on the songs. The songs were recorded eventually but for some unknown reason not released. The band members drift apart and Bart Schwertmann joined the famous band Kayak.

Runaway Men is an album that finally is released and this is a jewel with eight very, very good songs. Bart Schwertmann have recently relased his first solo album Theater Of Grief and also handed a tape of old Galaxy material to David Van Hartingsveldt who heard the potential. He wanted to refine this old but fresh songs and the result is an excellent album which fortunately has emerged from oblivion, and which we in 2002 can enjoy!

Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
