Novena: With a year of reinvention, reinvigoration, and rebirth.

Novena - Ghosts

Novena, in Christianity, a term designating a spiritual devotion consisting of the recitation of a set form of prayer for nine consecutive days, in petition for a divine favor or in preparation for a liturgical feast or as participation in an important event such as a Year of Jubilee.

Novena is also a band from Brighton that offers no liturgical feast but spiritual and intriguing music! Novena is a progressive rock/metal band featuring members of Haken, Slugdge, Ravenface and more. So this is no lightweight band! Novena with the track Ghost,

«Novena welcomes Pipi Gogerl to the band as a vocalist alongside our very own Ross Jennings. Recorded in two studios in Brighton, the back of a tour bus in the USA, and a greenhouse in Essex, ‘Ghosts’ sees Novena reflecting on the past and considering the future. With Pipi Gogerl in the fold, Novena are a complete six-piece band again, and the chemistry and creative impetus is stronger than ever before. We cannot wait to show you what comes next».

Rising British prog rockers Novena have announced their new vocalist in the form of Austrian singer Pipi Gogerl, who has previously worked with prog metal bands Ancient Fragments and Question Of Eternity.

Gogerl features in Novena’s video for brand new single Ghosts which you can watch below. She replaces previous harsh vocalist Gaia Mason who left Novena earlier this year, and will add her impressive voice to clean singer Ross Jennings vocals.

«Having performed recently as a five-piece following an amicable split with previous vocalist Gaia Mason (Slice The Cake), Novena is finally complete again as a six-piece line-up with the addition of vocal powerhouse, Pipi Gogerl», the band state.

Ghosts is Novena at their most focused and succinct, packing three-part vocal harmony, infectious drum grooves, heavy riffs, and a catchy chorus, into just three and a half minutes of high-intensity progressive metal. Exploring themes of growth and rebirth, Ghosts allows Novena to expand their catalogue beyond the beloved Eleventh Hour era, completed in 2021 with The Stopped Clock EP.

For Novena, 2022 is a year of reinvention, reinvigoration, and rebirth.

We cannot wait to show you what comes next.

About Ulf Backstrøm (7417 Articles)
Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
