Carrion Vael: Captivatingly melodic, with sheer barbarity waiting in the wings.

Carrion Vael – The Devil In Me

Someone claims that the devil is in me! But more seriously The Devil In Me is a song with meldodic technical death metal band Carrion Vael. The song is taken from the album Abhorrent Obsessions and was released 12th August via Unique Leader Records.

My pearl, my victim

No innocence can evict this

A sadist faith

All around all I see are the screams that are soon to be

Disfigured in his own flesh

One look in the mirror

To make you detest

I was born with the devil deep in me

Fresh, clean, young things

Unaware of perilous deeds

Their beauty wanes,

in the flames they remain

Until I speak their name

Ohhh, not all is known of that night

The moon it shined, casting dim light through the bittersweet vine

Abandoned souls shall be mine

Their bodies lost to the ground

Forgotten in time

Dig

I need the bones and the skin

The guts and anguish oh I thirst for the sin

Dig (echo)

I Sell their souls and pawn the rest to the flies

Murder castle!

How gruesome, my cast

In a cage, haunted by the past

I’ll swing I know

They hope I choke, on rope

Until there’s life’s no more

The devil, in a white dress

A dreamland, haunted by the sleepless

And when you see me, will you fear me

And will you turn your back and forsake me

As they begged, I pledged

It’s been withdrawn with no claims

My love can’t you see

I’ve got the devil in me

Ohhh, not all is known of that night

The moon it shined, casting dim light through the bittersweet vine

Abandoned souls shall be mine

Their bodies lost to the ground

Forgotten in time

Oh she resides in the depths of the limepit

Where the body decays and for a profit

No child, I’ll slay them all

And they’ll never know

My need to kill grows everlasting

Day by day I long for the respite

this blood, it gives my soul

And they’ll never know

Ohhh, not all is known of that night

The moon it shined, casting dim light through the bittersweet vine

Abandoned souls shall be mine

Their bodies lost to the ground

Forgotten in time

Vocalist Travis Lawson Purcell discussed the new single: «The Devil In Me was the first song that we completed for our new album, Abhorrent Obsessions, and it laid the foundation for the direction of the whole thing. Captivatingly melodic, with sheer barbarity waiting in the wings. It mimics life, and all of its cruelties».

Formed in 2017 Carrion Vael execute skillfully crafted melodic death/thrash and draw lyrical influences from famous serial killers and mass murders in history. Their brutal force is heavily influenced by technical, melodic and traditional death metal, incorporating aspects of slam and old school death with razor-cut precision.

Their debut album, Resurrection of the Doomed, arrived in 2017 with sophomore album God Killer following in 2020 via Horror Pain Gore Death Productions to worldwide critical acclaim.

Having shared the stage with The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decapitation, Nekrogoblikon, Wolftooth and many more hard-hitters, Carrion Vael are ready to push the next chapter of their career to the fullest.

Hailing from Richmond Indiana, Carrion Vael are a brutal force heavily influenced by Technical, Melodic and traditional Death Metal. They take things to their own level by incorporating aspects of slam and old school death with razor cut precision making them stand out amongst the run of the mill Midwestern bands in the USA.

This talented 5-piece group is led by the brainchild of Travis Lawson Purcell (vocals), who along with Alex Arford (bass), Trent Limburg (guitar), Chris Smiley (drums), and Ryan Kuder (guitar) draw influences lyrically from famous serial killers and mass murders in history, while also writing and performing carefully crafted melodic Death and Thrash.

The band self-released their first effort in 2017, the full length album Resurrection Of The Doomed which was very well received and earned them fantastic reviews for their debut in this hard to please genre. Their follow up, the 2020 release of God Killer on HPGD Productions was also welcomed by critics, and sold well despite being released during a worldwide pandemic, and the band has since seen consistent growth with fans being responsive and behind them more than ever.

Enter 2021: Carrion Vael entered Sicktones Studio with engineer/producer Jack Daniels recording which is the result of their latest unreleased masterpiece ‘Abhorrent Obsessions’ and in 2022 will be released via the prestigious label Unique Leader.

Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
