Threshold: Just press reset, smile! grab your dreams and start over again.

Threshold – King Of Nothing

Threshold with new music and the single King Of Nothing. UK prog rockers Threshold have returned with a video for their brand new single King Of Nothing. It’s taken from the band’s upcoming studio album, Dividing Lines, which will be released through Nuclear Blast on November 18.

King Of Nothing is the first song penned for the band by singer Glynn Morgan, who returned to Threshold for 2017’s Legends Of The Shire, in 18 years.

«It’s about moving on, accepting defeat and just moving on, instead of spending the rest of your life blaming yourself or whoever for things not going the way you´d hoped», says Morgan. «As hard as it may seem, don’t give up, just press reset, smile! grab your dreams and start over again, be the King of your own destiny!».

«King Of Nothing is the first single I have written for Threshold since Innocent back in 1994 during my first stint with the band, and it feels awesome and exciting to have one of my songs chosen for release as a single from the new album Dividing Lines».

Threshold says, «We are proud to announce our 12th full length album, Dividing Lines, which is set to be released on November 18th via Nuclar Blast. A collection of cautionary tales, Dividing Lines is best described as Legends darker, moodier older brother». Threshold with Dividing Line and the single Silenced.

Lyrics:

Silenced a million spoken voices

Their choices stolen without violence

Stopped by unrelenting forces

Who never saw their worth

Who never saw their souls as they were

Silenced a concept thought of freely

In fury a statement of defiance

Blocked no judges and no jury

From many to a few to everyone we knew

We reel at the scale of the wall they created

Lost at the cost of the world they deleted

The shouting of a dream

Was nothing but a scream inside

As everyone was

Silenced the past is just a memory

Nostalgia is all that it’s cracked up to be

Stored like some forgotten history

Left to gather dust they were

Loved and they were lost and they were

Silenced they knew that it was coming

They told us we’d reach the end of summer

We stand in line with arrows

To beat the new machine

We’re slaughtered by the bullets

In the form of T’s and C’s

We reel at the scale of the wall they created

Lost at the cost of the world they deleted

The shouting of a dream

Was nothing but a scream inside

As everyone was silenced

As everyone was silenced

Silenced silenced

Silenced silenced

We reel at the scale of the wall they created

Lost at the cost of the world they deleted

The shouting of a dream

Was nothing but a scream inside

And after their show of compassion is ended

We’ll hear the coda of what they intended

The shouting of a dream

Was nothing but a scream inside

As everyone was silenced

As everyone was silenced

Silenced a million spoken voices

Their choices stolen without violence

Stopped by unrelenting forces

Who never saw their worth

Who never saw their souls as they were

Richard West comments on the song: «Silenced is about how we seem to be heading towards less voices, less artists, less venues, less platforms where everyone can be heard. People seem so scared to speak out or debate anything anymore. I know I sound old but I miss the good old days! When freedom of speech goes then society is lost».

A quality prog metal tune with good melody, musicianship, great production and well-structured with a symphonic element the music is like a warm cloth  I can wrap myself in when feeling bad!

Dividing Lines marks the second album since the return of former vocalist Glynn Morgan, who reunited with the band on their previous effort Legends Of The Shires (2017). A darker album than Legends Of The Shires, the band have described it as Legends darker, moodier older brother.

Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
