Maraton: The quirks that makes you, you

Maraton is a new talented Norwegian act with influences from A-ha, Leprous and Muse. Marathon is the result of four young men with a desire to create something that most Norwegian bands do not dare. Energetic and catchy, but also demanding in its uncompromising. Silky guitars are dazzlingly blurred over excellent fuzzbass. In addition are bubbling drums in harmony with sacred singing very exciting.

The Norwegian prog/alternative band Maraton is out with its new single and music video Prime. Prime is a thoughtful introspection of complex relationships we have with other people close to us. The band’s versatility to seamlessly flicker between pop, prog rock and metal in a single song! Rhythmic intro of the song is followed by catchy patterns which lead to the emotional and lyrical voice of the philosophical protagonist.

The band has commented: «When you grow up, you seem to alter your persona from groups of friends you hang out with. Who are you? What slang or word will you use that you don’t normally use? How will you react to other people interactions? The insecurities that come with finding yourself in this massive world are often confusing. Combine all your experiences and personalities. Get rid of the bad things, keep the good. Remember! It’s the quirks that makes you, you!».
