In The Woods…..: Ever expanding in new directions

From my birthplace Kristiansand, I actually discover an old band that I did not show existed! They started out as a black metal band, but now it`s an exciting avant garde prog metal they play. Still there are hints of black metal and in addition doom and death but this is more like a flavor enhancing element. Shortly the band release their new effort Cease The Day.

On that record the band continue to refine and perfect their sound while ever expanding it in new directions. Cease the Day is a powerful and kaleidoscopic effort. A thunderous undercurrent of melodic riffing drives these songs forward, elements of doom, death, and progressive metal all coming together to form a cohesive whole.

Chilling ambiance, psychedelia, avant-garde, and deep soaring vocals ebb and flow to craft a unique sound that truly must be heard to be believed, all before crushing the listener with the band’s most extreme moments since their debut Heart of the Ages.
