Hollow: Finally back after 20 years

Hollow is a power metal music project from the North of Sweden, specifically Umeå. The project has a focus rooted in the classic metal/power metal-meets-prog intersection. Andreas Stoltz is the sole member in Hollow, and the new album Between Eternities Of Darkness is the third full length record from Hollow. The new album declares that Hollow are back and releasing their first album in two decades.

Between Eternities Of Darkness is in many ways the solo work of vocalist and guitarist Andreas Stoltz. As reinforcement Stalder Zantos on the drums and a few others offering brief guest appearances elsewhere. It`s not possible to hear on the new album that it 20 years since the last album, because the voice of Stolz is equally strong as before. He does a fine job, and deliver a nice performance. He also is a very good guitar player, and he has great composing skills. However, the production could been better.

The music is catchy and energy and often exciting dark and atmospheric and with nice hooks. Some songs are very dynamic as Fate Of The Jester with heavy section and more quieter but darker moments. A nice deliverance of riff you could find on Hidden, and the song contains also some excellent guitar playing. Between Eternities Of Darkness ballad alibi is Shadow World, a very good dynamic song with both sensitivity and power. The song also have some amazing vocal. Pull Of The Undertow have potent and thundering rhythms and very fine choruses.
