Evangelist: Inspired by obscure epic metal
Evangelist - Deus Vult

Deus Vault is translated from Latin to English God Wants or God Wills. In addition Deus Vaults is the band Evangelist new album. Deus Vult is a collection of songs that revolves around medieval history, religion and spirituality. With a richer musical identity, the band decided to use acoustic guitars and add more vocal and guitar layers, in order to conceive denser arrangements. Some tracks such as The Leper King have a strictly historical background, while some others are pure fantasy, such is the case of Eremitus.
Sonic inspiration comes from the obscure epic metal scene from the US, as well as from all the doom metal pioneers and metal classics in general. For the lyrical side of the band, Evangelist get their inspiration from the twisted minds of R.E. Howard and H.P. Lovecraft. The band’s third album was supposed to be recorded in the middle of 2015 but unfortunately, due to health issues, works were put on hold until next spring. In November 2016 the band started recordings Deus Vult and the album was released at the end of last year.
We can say that Evangelist takes time to get the music out! Members are anonymous. Some of them are involved in the epic doom metal band Monasterium. Both band are from Cracow in Poland. Evangelist started out in 2008 and Monasterium three years ago.
