Tucana: Plenty of keys

Tucana are a baroque progressive band from Sweden with one member living in the Netherlands. Their music is in the realms of rock opera, mixing progressive rock and symphonic metal, in some ways reminiscent of acts such as Epica or Nightwish but with a more progressive edge. In 2013 the making of Tucana’s second album Legacy began. It’s a musical journey in Tucana’s 30 year history with new recordings of previously unreleased songs. This is the first track Quiet Rain.

The songs on Legacy cover the spectrum between moderately fast ballads and up-tempo attacks with double bass. Occasionally, a guitar solo freshes up the music. Sonically, the music are balanced by plenty of keyboard layers. The band was formed in 1989 when the band took their new name Wistaria. With the new name change from Tucana, there was also a lineup change.
