Monolith was available worldwide Feb 8th 2019, and is a full length album. Monolith is the final offering after a triptych of digital ep’s, Monolith is the full length conclusion of Drottnars aural campaign. Following on from a series of critically acclaimed recordings stretching back as far as 1996, it is finally time for Drottnar to step out from the shadows of the Norwegian underground into an even greater darkness. Monolith is the darkest and most excruciating album to date.
Drottnar was established during the 90’s in the undergrounds of the emerging Norwegian extreme metal scene. After releasing a few demos and an EP Drottnar presented their debut full-length album Welterwerk in 2006. The album was highly acclaimed and gained wide attention for its technical and intricate structure and idiosyncratic style.
After touring Europe and the US the following years, Drottnar released their second album Startum which was a refinement of the extraordinary industrial and technical achievement Drottnar had then become synonymous with.
