BlackCube: Big and great music from Lille
BlackCube – Silencing The Sun

BlackCube is a progressive metal band based in Lille. They are influenced by Symphony X, Queen, Dream Theater and Pink Floyd but reasonably enough the group strives to develop a clean musical identity. The weapons they use are oscillating between gliding moments and heavy and aggressive passages. With more than 50 concerts under their belt, BlackCube has forged a solid stage experience. The band have released their new album Silencing The Sun, and here are the song Cartographers Of Your Mind from that album,
The Lille band was formed in 2004, and the group was first dedicated exclusively to the stage and covers. The line-up stabilized during the summer of 2008 and the group decided to devote themselves to composition. BlackCube wrote their first four tracks, recorded them and released their first EP in early 2010.
Anxious to create a more consistent repertoire, the group begins writing their first album entitled Last Exile, and the album was released in June 2013. This album was performed on stage with bands like Klone and Max Pie.
BlackCube then immerses themselves in the writing of their second album Silencing The Sun. The Lille combo explores the dark and dreamlike worlds of the human psyche, exploring themes such as consenting submission, authoritarianism, and escape through dreams and abandonment to uncertainty. To compose this more personal and successful album, the group has drawn inspiration from the roots of heavy metal and progressive rock. The keyboards develop the personality of the instrumental sequences and the use of the choirs brings density and humanity to the songs.
