Poil: Without any limitations!

Lyon is known for its silk weavers and historic buildings, and the town was listed in Unesco’s World Heritage List in 1998. Seven years later the band Poil was founded in Lyon. A band with three dedicated musicians. Antoine Arnera (Le Grand Sbam) of keyboards and vocals, Boris Cassone on bass and vocals, and  Guilhem Meier (Ukandanz) on drums and vocals. Poil were formed as an experimental rock trio without any limitations, prohibitions, nor traditions, they’ve combined raw madness and virtuosity. They evoking thoughts of avantgarde-progressive basis like Frank Zappa, classic essence like Frederic Chopin or Igor Stravinsky, and theatrical approaches like Charlie Chaplin according to what they say.

Their debut album L’ire Des Papes was released in 2008 during massive gig shows. Poil flow, dance and dash between the energy of punk, the beauty of chamber music and the chaos of a factory on the brink of explosion. Sus is the latest album by PoiL and their forth, the ultra-speed superhero trio, subtly but distinctively reveals their premature genius. The track Luses Fadas,

The album is made up of two epic cuts of 20 minutes each, where humor makes space for lyricism and Occitan poetry. Serenades at dawn, coitus of the skies and seas, mad dogs shrieking from the bottom of a well… PoiL has taken off its red spandex suit in favor of a polyphonic troubadour cap, seemingly better-behaved but ever closer to madness.
