Odious: Oud and tabla and dark lyric
Odious - Mirror Of Vibrations
Odious is the first Arabian band which signed with a west-label ever! Coming from Egypt and ready to take the worldwide metal community by storm! Majestic black metal in the vein of Cradle Of Filth but with oriental elements played with original oriental instruments! Mirror Of Vibrations is the re-release of their first full-length album by the Egyptian black metal band Odious. Their musical style could be described as folk-infused atmospheric symphonic oriental black metal. Folk instruments have been incorporated into most styles of metal by more bands than one would care to count, sometimes to good effect, many times just for the we-so-cool effect. In this case, Odious has done it very nice. The making of the second album Skin Age,
Mirrors Of Vibration is a fascinating debut, but more oriental instrumentation and song with Arabic lyric would do the experience even better. If you like Melechesh, Myrath, Orphaned Land or you’re a fan of folk or melodic black metal in general, this album might very well be for you. Bassem Fakhri delivers two shrieks of different pitches, with the higher pitch used more often. Odious use instruments like the oriental drum Tabla as well as ordinary drum kit. Oud or out is a short-necked slope that originates from the Mediterranean and the Middle East, and that instrument is present on Mirrors Of Vibration. Oud go hand in hand with traditional guitars. Fascinating is the word, and also the dark oriental haunting atmosphere is fascinating. The brutal vocals and very dark lyric also is very important in the Odious universe.
