Shadows is the fourth album from Introitus from Sweden, and the long awaited sequel to 2014’s critically acclaimed album Anima. Shadows sees the band with their trademark of contemporary progressive sound. Introitus mix their Swedish folk heritage and elements of traditional progressive rock to create a fascinating musical sound. Anna Bender from Introitus said: «Introitus has always been well received by the UK progressive rock audience, so releasing our new album Shadows at Bad Elephant Music feels like coming home for us!».
Introitus was founded in Vansbro, Sweden in 1999. The debut album Fantasy came twelve years ago. The musical ideas the main composer Mats Bender had been working on for 3 decades actually. Finally the songs turned into a musical venture, but when it did it was with a core group consisting of himself, his wife Anne Bender (vocals) and their children Mattias Bender (drums) and Johanna Bender (percussion and backing vocals). In addition important contribution from the skilled musicians Per Danielsson on electric & acoustic guitars and Peter Wetterberg on bass and backing vocals. Mats Bender played synthesizer, accordion, electric & acoustic guitars, bass, percussion and do the programming on Fantasy.
