Cthuluminati: Young and ambitious musicians
Cthuluminati - Reliqideus

The band Cthuluminati is a storytelling psychedelic metal formation from the Netherlands. They deliver a psychedelic blend of black, doom, stoner and progressive metal, 70’s rock, blues, as well as many other influences. They also manage to make this amalgam to very intriguing and distinctive music. Their debut album Reliqideus has a few days ago been released through the band themselves so it’s a fully independent release. Lurically it`s about Lovecraftian horror and conspiracy are not just reflected in the bands music, but come to life in the nice artwork and background stories as well…
Cthuluminati was founded four years ago and consists of pretty young musicians that seems to be ambitious. It was Devi Hisgen with vocals and guitars, Ramo Wohl with guitars, Stefan Strausz on bass that founded the band. They have earlier played together for more than a year in psychedelic black ‘n roll formation called Marquis. The trio was keen on to evolve their music even further into the unknown, a new format was chosen in which a psychedelic musical flow stands central. A psychedelic metal, mixed with some avant garde, some blackmetal, some stoner, some doom….
The name Cthuluminati was chosen to represent the band’s themes, incorporating modern conspiracies and mythology into classic Lovecraftian folklore. Musically, Cthuluminati draws influences from bands such as Oranssi Pazuzu, Swans, Cult Of Luna, Deathspell Omega, Dødheimsgard and many others…. Soon after the formation Rick Lieffering from the band Fenris joined Cthuluminati on drums. With a new complete line-up, the band played shows regularly across the Netherlands, and started recording their first full-length album Reliqideu in the summer of 2016. With the aid of Bas The Rooij (main producer), Stephen Van Haestrecht (recording and production on drums) and Toni Lindgren (mastering) the album was finished.
Before releasing the album, Rick Lieffering quit the band due to personal reasons, and the band decided to focus on building forth on the band’s central themes, writing new music and stories around the band’s musical content. In the summer of 2018, Seth Van De Loo from the band Severe Torture decided to join the band on drums, which turned out to be an unexpectedly perfect fit for the band’s ambitions. After a year of preparations and hard work, Cthuluminati is ready to release Reliqideus and the stories behind the music, play live shows, and start recording the next of many future releases.
